One day captain...

The buddies arriving from the North clearly announced the color: they want water! They thought they saw the sea, but we wanted to make them discover the Camargue, our Camargue !

So we concocted them a perfect little surprise so that they too fall in love with the Land of Argence, like us five years ago, when we came to live here.

I who always dreamed of being a freshwater sailor, I was spoiled ! For a weekend, I found myself Captain of Friends First, not little proud !

We headed towards the pond of Thau. It is still practical, this Rhone Canal in Sète ! It allows you to go directly to get oysters in Bouzigues.
On the way, we stopped where we looked like, we had taken the bikes, so we offered ourselves a little ride on the Viarhôna that passes right next door.
We went back on the boat, this time to discover the local flora and fauna, at the delicious rhythm of a handful of kilometers per hour, barely. We were all a bit in nap mode...
We stayed several days on this unusual accommodation.
In the evening, we had an aperitif on the bridge, overlooking the hill of Sète and sunset included... Magical !

We slept, lulled by the lapping of the water, and decided to go back quietly to Bellegarde, to eat on the harbor. Fortunately we had booked, with this early spring weather, the terrace was full !

Jean told us that at the time of Saint-Louis, the network of canals and marshes surrounding Bellegarde had been developed to transport salt, and all those goods that were travelling by rafts.
We called this network the Royal Roubine, he explains. Were we really listening to him, Jean ? Not sure ! I think we were all dreaming about the next ride on the water that we would do together...
