The Ceram Asteque workshop in Vallabrègues offers unique crafted ceramics, made with respect for the environment. Come and discover its universe, open all year round !
After an apprenticeship training at the Aubagne School of Ceramics, Manon DUCRES decided to create her own art workshop in February 2020.
Her workshop will be called Ceram Asteque, a nod to her youth and her learning of pottery when she called the potter's tools l'estèque in French, 'l'asteque' referring to the Aztecs civilization.
Manon works in the respect for the environment, as agreed with her sensitivity to ecology and renewable materials. Her production is based on ethical and qualitative products.
Manon uses the three main clays to create her unique handcrafted ceramics. Earthenware which is more plastic, is used on the potter’s wheel, and sandstone which dries slower for shaping, and porcelain for slip casting.
Manon shapes pieces with simple and clean lines, which are fashionable at the moment. She works with natural colors of the clay she uses: black for sandstone, pink for earthenware and translucent for porcelain thanks to a very high temperature firing..
Come and meet Manon in her studio, in the magnificent setting of the Presbytery.
She also offers pottery classes for adults and children on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
