Bicycle loop

Bike route - duration 3 hours

This bike loop for all levels starts at the Tourist Office and takes greenways and uncrowded shared routes, which allow children to follow their parents, or the other way around!

Departing from the Tourist Office (8 rue Victor Hugo - Beaucaire).
You can leave your car on the parking lot of the arenas, right next door.
You follow the Banquette, then the Rhone to Sète Canal to take the route of the Via-Rhôna and the Mediterranean Cycle Route.

At the level of the oratory of the Croix Couverte, a building of Gothic architecture dating back to the 14th century, turn right towards the plain of Beaucaire and its quiet country roads until the Vieux Mas, an educational farm as in 1900.

And why not stop at Domaine du Petit Mylord and stock up on flower jams ?

Then head north towards the Lock of Nourriguier created in the 19th century it allowed to circulate the goods from the Rhône to Sète. Carefully cross the D38, the rest of the route will take you through vineyards, the nicest way to discover the terroir of the Costières de Nîmes and its landscapes.

The route extends towards Jonquières-Saint-Vincent, this village once composed of 3 villages, has many curiosities: the mills built in the 17th and 18th centuries on a hill overlooking the village, but also its imposing, totally eclectic town hall inaugurated in 1903 are worth a visit. But it is surely the nice and calm Fontaine de Tavie that will seduce you the most! This little place sheltered from the eyes will allow you to take a well-deserved break! But shh! the place must remain secret!

The loop continues towards the Chapel Saint Laurent, Romanesque style, this beautiful chapel of the 12th century is surrounded by a poppy field when it is the season, it is one of the photo spots in the area!

It is already time to return, take the direction of Comps, then the greenway, you will pass near the Massif de l'Aiguille and the troglodytic Abbey of Saint-Roman, perhaps the opportunity to make a detour.
