Gaël Briez is a producer of organic essential oils in Bellegarde (in the Gard). He imagined a unique place and concept in his family's farmhouse. Discover his portrait here!
At the Mas en Provence, let's meet Gael.
Gaël is a producer of organic essential oils, he took over the agricultural family estate and wanted to create perfumes based on essential oils. It will take 10 years to train in the production and distillation of aromatic plants.
“By putting my nose in essential oils, I had the click!
I wanted to produce these plants. It was a visceral need for me to be in contact with nature. I am absolutely convinced of the benefits of essential oils on the body and mind, and wanted to share this with as many as possible.”
Scents of Provence
Visiting Un Mas en Provence is to immerse yourself in the world of Gaël. This place is difficult to describe. Gael nicely describes the visit as a 'sensory experience', an experience that appeals to all our senses.
So we start with the discovery of the fragrant garden and enjoy an incredible guided tour (by Gaël himself, please!) in the fields of lavandin, immortelle, verbena and rosemary.
We're lucky, we're Friday. And at the Mas en Provence, Friday, it's distillery!
We are witnessing live the transformation of aromatic herbs into essential oil. Gael explains the separation of hydrosol and oil, the use and effects of each. The photos do not tell everything, but I can tell you that it smells divinely good!
Take care of yourself and do good!
We then enter the beautiful boutique of the Mas en Provence. A warm, cozy atmosphere, fragrances of Provence, wood and soft colors, we immediately feel good. The highly qualified team is very caring and answers our questions (sometimes intimate, it must be said).
In confidence, we indulge and let ourselves be pampered...
Engaged farmer
Gael is a farmer, and does not deny his origins. 'I am a peasant, and proud to be, it's the most beautiful job in the world! '
But for Gael it's not just about producing and selling beautiful products. His ambition is clear:
'Being constantly listening to my clients, but also awaken consciences, accompany the change of mentalities to consume better and local while doing good. '
Sensitive and creative
Gael did not always have his hands in the earth. In a previous life he used to wield the wand. He was a musician, intermittent of the show. His sensitivity and creative energy are felt today in the products he imagines.
You will understand, the visit of the Mas en Provence and the meeting of Gaël is a must if you are passing through the Terre d'Argence!
To reconnect with nature, go back to the essentials, do good, what if that was luxury today?
