The village of Vallabrègues

Vallabrègues is a pretty little Provençal village. The inhabitants cherish their village and we understand them.

Here, the quality of life is exceptional!

This village of basket weavers has experienced the vagaries of the river. Moreover, it is the only Gard village on the left bank of the Rhône. In Vallabrègues, there were up to 250 basket weavers in the 19th century. There is only one left today, you can meet him and discover his creations during your stroll through the streets of the village. His workshop is located right next to the Basketry and Craft Museum where you can discover a large collection of basketry objects. Once a year the village organizes the Basketry Festival and welcomes basket makers from all over Europe!

A little further on at the Presbytère you meet Manon, the ceramic artist from the village, she will tell you everything about her work and her vision of this craft. And just a stone's throw away, you may be able to fill up on Vallabrègues sausage at the Cuadrado butcher shop. Its recipe is secret!

The village is surrounded by orchards, fruit and vegetable producers sell their produce directly as at Mas d'Espiard. Here, earth, water and sun come together for an explosion of flavors!

You will also like to have a drink in the shade of the century-old plane trees in the center of the village and watch the bowlers shoot and point!

Recharge your batteries by the lake
