The Maïo Festival

In May 2024, come and celebrate the "Fête de la Maïo" on the Place d'Argence in Fourques. We look forward to seeing you there to celebrate childhood and youthful traditions !

The Escolo d'Argènço, Fourques' maintenance and tradition group, has been honoring a little girl every first Sunday in May since 1984, choosing her to represent her group and village for a year.

Program :

10:30am : Procession through the streets of the Village, departing from Mas St Michel. Tribute to the bust of Frédéric Mistral.
11:15am : Presentation of the Maïo on the Place d'Argence.
11:40 am : Fourco "Cieuta Mistralenco". Charter signing ceremony in the presence of Peulin Reynard Capoulié du Félibrige.
2pm : Lis enfants en festo. Traditional dances and games on the Place d'Argence.
