Discover the charming presbytery of Vallabrègues during your stay in Gard. Historic monument in a typical provencal village on the banks of the Rhone. Hexagonal tower.
Do you know what a Jardin de curé is ? No ?
It is a garden mixing vegetable plots with medical herbs and flowers which is cultivated by the priest of the parish. There is just one at Presbytery of Vallabrègues.
And this is not the only original touch of the place, since you can also discover a hexagonal tower.
Admit that it changes from the round and square, the hexagonal it is rather unusual for a tower !
Dating back to the Renaissance, more precisely the 16th century, this small rectory is a charming memory of ancient times. A time when, in the Jardin de curé, grew thyme and rosemary !
A young ceramic artist has just set up shop in the Presbytère. Come and meet Manon Ducrès in her studio !
During the summer months, the presbytery hosts concerts in its pretty courtyard, notably as part of the Musique et Vieilles Pierres festival held every August.
