2 steps away, the incredible Abbey of Saint-Roman!
Nestled in the scrubland, this monastery was dug into the rock 1500 years ago by hermits and then monks, a place to live remote from the world. This abbey is the last troglodytic abbey in Europe, and it is one of the little secret gems that France is full of !
On the upper terrace, the 360 degree view is breathtaking. And if you come during the summer, you can even treat yourself to an aperitif at sunset at the abbey!
A tasting in the vineyards
Not far from the Rhone Valley, we have here a land of sandstone clay. A clay soil, the sun of Provence and the Mistral, here everything is combined to cultivate vines, and there are numerous wine estates ! In particular, AOP wines from Costières de Nîmes and Clairette de Bellegarde are produced there.
So take a short break at Château Mourgues du Grès ! There you will taste organic wines of exceptional quality. You can also go for a walk on their botanical trails between vineyards and brooms.
Time travel
