Saturday morning... Troglodyte walk

We suggest you start your day with a short stroll in the Aiguille massif. It is the highest point in Terre d'Argence and it is also where there is a troglodyte abbey that is unique in Europe: the Abbey of Saint Roman. Carved into the rock over 1000 years ago, this place is as intriguing as it is enchanting.
A short hike allows you to discover garrigue and scrub, it ends with the discovery of the abbey. You can follow the itinerary here.

If you come in summer, note that aperitifs are organized every other Wednesday from June 15 to August 30 at the abbey (to be booked online). The perfect opportunity to declare your love to your sweetheart, at sunset, with a glass of Costières de Nîmes wine in hand !

Saturday afternoon: discovery of Beaucaire and wine tasting

Not far from the Massif de l'Aiguille is the charming town of Beaucaire, a city of Art & History. Take the time to discover the cobbled streets of the historic center, the fortress, the Old Square where you can enjoy fresh fruit juice or homemade ice cream. Your walk ends on the quays, along the Rhône Canal in Sète, several terraces are waiting for you for a coffee in the sun.

For the aperitif: tasting in the vineyards

Between Rhône and Costières, Terre d'Argence enjoys a sunny climate ideal for growing vines. Take the car, a few kilometers separate you from pretty wine estates that welcome you with pleasure for a tasting of the cuvees from their domain:

• In Beaucaire: Domaine Tavernel (organic wine) and Château Mourgues du Grès
• In Bellegarde: Château Saint-Louis la Perdrix, Mas Carlot (organic wine) and Domaine Pastouret (organic wine).

Candlelit dinner

The Auberge de l'Amandin will delight fine gourmets. By the fireplace or by the pool, the Chef prepares local specialties with fresh products. The place is magnificent and suitable for a romantic evening !

Sunday, fun activity in the great outdoors !

After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast in the Domaine des Clos garden, you're ready for new adventures !
We suggest you try out the pleasure of electric bikes on our greenways. Bike rental company AB Bike & Trott in Beaucaire offers some really cool bikes: great autonomy for these little speedsters that zip along the cycle paths of the Terre d'Argence. You can rent the bikes for the day.
Head for Bellegarde along the ViaRhôna, which runs alongside the Canal du Rhône à Sète. The port of Beaucaire is 12 kilometers from Bellegarde. Once you've reached the port, head for the village center, then cycle to the Tour de la Madone, with its panoramic views over the plain.

After a short stopover, hop back on your horses for a visit to Mas en Provence, a producer and distiller of essential oils. Stroll through Gaël's perfumed gardens and discover how aromatic plants are transformed into perfume. You'll leave the Mas en Provence with good vibes to carry you on your way!

Lunch in the port of Bellegarde

By bike, go back in the direction of the port. On site, an excellent place for a lunch at the edge of the water : the Halte Nautique.
You can enjoy fresh fish or local specialties. The restaurant also offers a very good wine list.

After lunch, it's time to hit the road again to Beaucaire, return the bikes and finish gently this weekend.
